Finding Nemo (2003)

Standard

Finding Nemo is a classic children’s movie, which captures any one–nor matter how old you are–heart. The breathtaking animation makes you believe that you are actually in the sea, experiencing the lives of the hilarious characters. The vocal use from the talented actors and actresses are amazingly done, making you believe in what they are saying. All of these key factors, all added in with an amazing and well thought out plot gives you another Pixar hit!

A clown fish named Marlin (Albert Brooks) lives in the Great Barrier Reef when he loses his son, Nemo, after he ventures into the open sea, despite his father’s constant warnings about many of the ocean’s dangers. Nemo is abducted by a boat and is sent to a dentist’s office in Sydney. Marlin, who lost his wife when Nemo was born, ventures off by himself to try to retrieve Nemo. On his adventure, Marlin meets a hilarious fish named Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), a blue tang suffering from short-term memory loss. The companions travel a great distance, encountering various dangerous sea creatures such as sharks, anglerfish and jellyfish, in order to rescue Nemo from the dentist’s office, which is situated by Sydney Harbor. While the two are doing this, Nemo and the other sea animals in the dentist’s fish tank plot a way to return to Sydney Harbor to live their lives free again.

I loved this movie because of the humor. When you hear the name Ellen DeGeneres, you know it will be funny. Whether you are an adult or a child, you will be clutching your sides from the laughter you will experience. Even though this movie is eight years old, I still watch it to this day–because it is a classic! You can never go wrong with this movie!

I recommend this movie to anyone, any age! Especially for young children because this amazing movie also teaches great lessons in life. Right now it isnt in movie theaters, but I highly recommend buying it because you will be watching it more than once–I promise. Families will love this movie, so I highly recommend it to them! I gave this movie a four and a half out of five stars!

In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn where a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by a small army of minions, Gru (Steve Carell), the owner of the home, has a evil scientist plan to steal the moon.

Armed and ready to go with his plan, he soon has a huge distraction in the way! He encounters three little orphaned girls who look at him and see something that no one else has ever seen: a potential Dad. The world’s greatest villain has just met his greatest challenge: three little girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes.

This movie was beyond cute–not only was it a child movie, but also an adult movie. It had lots of drama in it which left in hanging on to your seat, as well as the comedy which is packed into the plot. When you hear the Steve Carell is in a movie or TV show, you know that it is going to be funny and a hit. He is a great actor and you can tell that in this hilarious movie!

I watched this movie with my family months ago, and it was amazing for everyone whether you are older or younger. There are funny scenes that will make everyone laugh and understand, as well as sad scenes that tug on your heart. This movie teaches younger children that you shouldnt judge people based off their appearance or “cover”. Also it teaches you that you shouldnt take what you have for granted–you should loves those that surround you and know that your days are being numbered. I think that this is a great movie for kids because of the life lessons they get from it.

I recommend this movie to any ages! Even though it isnt playing in theaters anymore, it can be bought from stores. I gave the DVD to my cousins for their birthday, and I know that they are still watching it to this day. I hope you all liked it as much as I did, and I gave this movie a four out of five stars!

Toy Story 3 (2010)

Standard

Known to be the best movie of 2010, Toy Story 3 won awards from multiple award shows, and also won over the hearts of millions. Whether you are a little kid, who enjoys toys, or just an adult who used to play with toy, memories flood the audiences’ minds throughout the movie. From the the first Toy Story (1995) movie that started Pixar Animation on the right foot, the company and movie have gone very far.

Toy Story seems to have stolen a part of our heart since the very first movie in 1995. Whether it was the fact that Pixar Animation gave life to these toys we played with everyday, or the humor and entertaining plot of the story, everyone nor matter what age loved this series. And with a fourth movie coming out, everyone is excited to see what will happen next! Something unique about the movie is the fact that as the series goes on, the movies get better, unlike most movies this era.

Toy Story 3 is a heart-warmer as well as an emotion-tugger that leaves you always interested what will happen next. Andy is now 17 and ready to head off to college, leaving Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the toy-box gang to wonder their uncertain futures. When the toys are accidentally donated to the Sunnyside Daycare center they’re initially overjoyed to once again be played with, but their enthusiasm quickly turns to horror as they discover the true nature of the establishment under the rule of the welcoming “Lotso” Bear. Now, all of the toys must band together in one final, crazy scheme to escape their confines and return home to Andy.

Throughout the movie you will be laughing, smiling, crying, and wanting more, as you say goodbye to the movie that stole your heart as a child, and as an adult. The transition to the ending is a magnificent job by the directors and leaves you in a mixed emotion feeling. I recommend this movie to anyone, any age! Five out of five stars!
